I’m pleased to announce the release of my latest song “Boracay” on Spotify and in all major online music stores, September 13th .
“Boracay” was recorded and produced at SMS studios in Hendersonville, Tennessee by Mike Schrimpf. Mike also played the keys, bongos and steel drums. He toured with Conway Twitty for many years. On steel guitar was Rex Wiseman. He is known for his work with the “Oak Ridge Boys” and many other Grand Ole Opry stars. Jordan Larsen who is a Nashville talent played the Spanish guitar and sang harmony. Mike Lusk is the lead singer. He too is a long-time Nashville pro. Mike played and sang with Loretta Lynn for many years. Special thanks to Pat Coyne who designed the cover and did the CD reproduction.
My inspiration for the song came last year when Cowboy Gary Ragan produced a music video of my song “Margarita Tan” in the Philippines. I was in the Philippines at the time of the filming and experienced a country full of beautiful scenery and friendly people. Maria Lilith Bumaat, was wonderful to escort me to Manilla, Bohol. Cebu, Pallawan and Boracay. Maria’s family was so gracious and they hosted a great fiesta for me with outdoor cooking and singing that lasted into the night.
I want to thank Donna Robinson who helped me put this project together. Donna is a great musician who has played in the Atlanta area and opened for many country superstars. She is an Atlanta Country Music Hall of Fame recipient with a vast amount of knowledge about the music industry.
Also, a very special thank-you to my daughter, Tina Dupree Abercrombie for all her hard work, love and support on the project.
